Empowering artists and entrepreneurs through community building and inclusion.

Welcome!

Hey y’all! My name is Tracey Carswell (they/them), I am a queer non-binary coach, curator, educator, speaker and artist with a focus on building connections through community and a strong commitment to promoting equity in the creative and entrepreneurial fields. I am the founder of Powerful in Pink and I’m proud to be co-founder of Queer Metalsmiths, a community space that honors, centers, and uplifts 2SLGBTQIA+ jewelers, metalsmiths and makers. I’m also the founder and Past President of the Miami chapter of the Women’s Jewelry Association, empowering women, femme, and transgender and gender non-conforming leadership in the jewelry and craft industries.

I’m here to support the growth and success of artists and entrepreneurs while building vibrant and inclusive communities!

Everyday Health

“As a kid, Tracey Carswell (they/them) always felt a little different. But they didn’t have the language to explain how or why until they tried on the term “nonbinary” and started using they/them pronouns. Finally, it felt like the right fit.

Then came the chest cancer diagnosis, and Carswell was immediately thrown back into a gendered space that didn’t feel right to them.”

“Tracey Carswell is not just any artist – they're a non-binary powerhouse, redefining the nexus of personal struggle, artistic expression, and entrepreneurial spirit.”

Women’s Jewelry Association

“Join the Women’s Jewelry Association for our third year of Conversations on Diversity: Deconstructing Gender in Jewelry: Care for Creators, a virtual event hosted by WJA New York Metro, WJA Miami, and Queer Metalsmiths, continuing the conversation on how gender impacts the jewelry industry. ”

“In the bustling artisanal gold mining sector of the Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC), the daily struggles of individuals like Maya come to light. Maya is an artisanal gold miner. She also happens to be a trans woman working in an industry that is dominated by a patriarchal culture, offering little room for the recognition of diverse gender identities and sexual orientations.”
